Please do not trim HOA common area trees
The HOA has skilled, licensed arborists to perform care and maintenance of trees. Please do not trim the trees on our common areas. Beside causing potentially expensive damage, we don't want our residents getting injured. If you think a tree needs to be trimmed, please contact the board at board@oellahoa.com or P.O. Box 802, Ellicott City, MD 21041.

Oella HOA Board Walk-through Oct 7th 1:00pm
The board of directors will begin making twice-yearly tours of HOA territory to assess the needs and condition of the association. The first walk through will be held on at 1:00pm on October 7. Members are invited to join the board for part or all of the tour. This is a great opportunity to meet board members and share your thoughts. We will begin at Charles James Circle (Timber Point) and work our way around the community. We will assess and discuss issues such as parking lots, landscaping of common areas, retaining walls and structures on common areas, and general property maintenance. This tour will be held in lieu of the regular board meeting which was scheduled for October 8th.
Please forward this information to your neighborhood e-mail lists and anyone who may not have computer access (so far we only have one person on the no-tech list).

Mill parking problems
The mill will soon re-open their lower parking lot, which should alleviate some of the worker parking issues. They are also looking into contracting with a towing company who will respond quickly to their requests. Residents have been calling the police when people are blocking the road, but there has been little to no response. In the interim, please use the contact info below if you run into a problem:

Oella Ave update
From the District 1 newsletter:
The rebuilding of a retaining wall along a 150-foot section of Oella Avenue, which was closed to traffic in 2005, began in July and engineers expect the work to be finished by the end of the year or early 2008. During the interim, Oella Avenue will remain closed from Pleasant Hill Road to a point about 100 feet S.W. of the intersection, with traffic detoured to Westchester Avenue. Steel deliveries will appear on the site this month.
