Oella Mill Opening Soon?
The Oella Mill sent out an e-mail stating that they will be opening in the "coming weeks." The blogger received the unofficial word that the 3rd & 4th floors are complete. They have posted new pictures to their website gallery. Thus, we should begin preparing for the changes in our lifestyles that are likely to accompany the opening.
Expect increased traffic, and pay attention to drivers entering and exiting the Mill. Also, please do not use the Mill parking lots. We don't want Mill residents to use our lots, so we shouldn't use theirs.
More info as it unfolds...

35 tons of Patapsco Valley trash!
In 2007, members and volunteers of the Friends of the Patapsco Valley Heritage Greenway removed 35+ tons of trash from the river valley. Much of this garbage was removed from the Oella area. This outstanding effort should be commended.
Please do your part to help keep trash out of the river. Not only is trash unsightly, it is dangerous for our wildlife.
Did you know that most of the trash that washes down storm drains is from spilled garbage cans & ripped bags, not litterbugs? Always place trash in tightly lidded cans, and, of course, don't throw trash anywhere but in a trash can. Remember to take with you anything that you bring into the forest.
Thanks to all of our good environmental stewards!

Orphaned trash cans
With all the wind sweeping down the hill, we've had many orphaned trash cans and lids pop up. In an effort to reunite the lonely plastics with their rightful owners, we're starting a trash can lost & found on the blog. If you've lost one or found one, please post a comment here, along with the current location where the trash can may be retrieved.
