Parking tags--part II

Parking tags for Pleasant Hill and Stone Row have been mailed out to residents whose HOA accounts are paid in full. As a reminder, residents receive two permanent numbered tags and one numbered guest tag (temporary use only). If you do not receive your tags, please contact Ruthann.

will Ruth policing the use of the tags? There are residents in Long Brick row who have 3 plus vehicles and keep them all on the lot. If there is to be no policing of these they are a waste of our $$ and effort.

I live on Pleasant Hill and I'm renting. Will the tags be mailed to the owner or myself? The owner is currently in Afghanistan so it may take him a while to get it to me? :)

Leah--Tags are sent to owners. Contact Ruthann if there is a problem.

Anon--ACM will handle enforcement. If there are specific situations of concern, they should be pointed out to Ruthann. ACM cannot have someone on site at all times, so it would help Ruthann act more efficiently if neighbors let her know of concerns.

Anon--I forgot to mention that these requests are kept confidential by Ruthann (she doesn't tell the offenders who the reporting resident is, just sends notice specifying the violation that needs to be corrected). She has contacted several people regarding parking violations already.

By the way to all who read this:

The parking hangers have more than paid for themselves in the amount of delinquent dues collected as a result of withholding the tags for accounts not in good standing. And, it's much cheaper than paying a lawyer to collect! The HOA has always had a problem with delinquent payers, and this is one more way to get the money.

I really think you all need to relax and just enjoy Oella. Snitching on neighbors is bad Karma.

Yeah, but what happens is that people stew and become full of bottled up anger when a problem isn't addressed. Then neighbors start fighting or avoiding each other--or worse, damaging each others' property (really!). That's not enjoyable for anybody. Ruthann/ACM will do inspections periodically, but they can't know about everything all the time. We don't have spycams. If it bugs you or interferes with your quality of life, then I say get it off your chest rather than stew (I guess that's my Psych background talking). That's why we have a management company--to deal with the complaints & help keep the neighborhood in good shape. Ruthann will do what she can within the bounds of the law & the CC&Rs. It may not be instant, but she will address the issue.

What is the definition of a 'temporary' tag? Is it for one day, one weekend, one week? What if two different people visit you, and there is only one tag?

A temporary tag should be used by anyone visiting or staying, but who does not live there. At this time, the board has not found it necessary to set a strict limit on the time period of use, but such a limit may be set in the future if it becomes a problem. If you have more than one guest, you can borrow a guest pass from a neighbor (as is done in other neighborhoods with limited parking), or the guest may opt to use public parking areas. If there is an extraordinary circumstance, please contact Ruthann.

The parking policies will soon be available on the HOA website in the Useful Information section. All homeowners should have received a copy in the mail months ago, but it will be posted online for reference.
